Journey home

The contrast between our journey south and today's journey home was amazing. Just a shower here and there but so much sunshine and light.
And so little traffic.....another contrast.... so plenty clear views though not easy to capture at 70mph.
The autumn colours were beautiful and sitting in the passenger seat was fine.
Three good things
1. Bacon rolls for breakfast. Rolls are so different from place to place....Allan loves the local ones in Glasgow, I love the local ones up north ....
2. Grannie happy listening to Allan talking about days long ago - his milk round stories...he drank a pint of double cream on Saturday mornings!!!...
and she remembered some of her own.
3. M&S pizza with salad at home just as daylight faded.
Yes, it changed very rapidly in the afternoon. I went out to Alastrean at about 3.30pm and it was still raining. By the time I came back it was gloriously sunny, just prior to getting dark! Nice image. I love talking with dad about days gone by. He's at his best when talking about his antics as a child on the farm in Midmar. His most recent stories involve falling out of a tree (believing his sister and cousin would catch him) and the three of them throwing tatties (breaking the glass) of a barn window and thinking his father wouldn't have a fit! Ha ha!

@jamibann it's so good to hear their memories and good for them to remember.

Sounds a lovely visit for all……we don’t ask our older loved ones enough about the past….I suppose I can class myself these days as keeper of old memories!

@happypat it was a lovely visit and so nice for everyone when Grannie can connect with stories.
I love the title 'keeper of old memories' ......it's so important!
