Today I discovered the website operationbeautiful.com, which invites people to stick up validating post-its where other people will find them - in changing rooms, on car windows, in public bathrooms, etc.
As someone who doesn't always have a very positive self-image (lol spot the understatement!) - and sometimes needs to be reminded to consciously switch from incessant negative self-talk to saying positive stuff to myself instead - this made me smile.
So, before I went out today, I made up a few post-its, and left them in various places along my route. It made me smile to be leaving 'guerrilla validations' around the place - and hopefully might put a smile on someone else's face, too :o)
@phil_howcroft I was at an Alexander Technique class in a church hall this morning, so I put one on the inside of the teacup cupboard door in the kitchen, and this one in the pic in the ladies loo .. then I put one on a mirror over some beads in the supermarket, and another on a random car windscreen .. this was the only one I had the nerve to then hang around long enough to take a pic of! :O)
@kashby Thanks - I'm glad to be passing on the idea to others!
@Cherrill Thanks! Yes, I'm finding the AT classes helpful - it seems to fit in well with learning/practising mindfulness and being present, as well as learning about posture, etc :o)
I suppose you have to be a bit careful where you put them though.
