I'm not one for doing self-portraits, as a rule .. so this is a bit of a leap, from avoiding them to doing a naked one!! LOL
I've been meaning to take a photo of my lovely lovely wetroom for ages, and particularly during the month of gratitude photos. I just love the space and light in there - having a shower with the sun streaming in through the skylight window, and looking out over the rooftops is lovely. I've been here a year, and the novelty is yet to wear off. So huge gratitude for that.
I've also been intending to take a photo to encapsulate my gratitude for my body and all it can do. I've spent a lot of my life being harsh and critical towards and about my body, and I'm working hard on shifting that to a perspective of love, appreciation and self-nurture.
So, not a technically brilliant photo, I know .. the bright sunshine means my face is bleached out .. but it feels like a brave and significant picture to me, so I hope that will be forgiven :)
PS - I'm going away for the weekend yet again, so again there'll be no action from me until some time next week!
well sarah , this is an unexpected image for your 365 :)
how did you manage to keep your camera dry .....i assume it was on self timer....how many takes did you need.
a man commenting on a picture of a naked lady in the shower ....needs to tread carefully ...ha ha ......lets just say it looks a nice shower and you are very brave to post the pic...oh and no tan lines from your trip to spain either !!!!!
Phil - I had the camera balanced on the door handle (it's only a little P&S), out of the way of the water and programmed it to take 10 shots at 1 second intervals. I did that twice, then went for the best of the bunch to edit and process. And as for white bits? Umm .. no comment LOL :oP
@sarahhorsfall sarah it sounds a tricky photo shoot. Glad it worked out OK
It's good to know that you were confident to post the image and i understand and respect what a 'significant moment' it must have been. No comment required regarding tan lines and white bits :)
