I said goodbye today to the Year 6 pupils, who are going on to high school in September. I sat with their parents and watched their fantastic 'Leavers' Show' - full of sketches and songs about their time at the school - and had to brush away a few tears at some of the more poignant moments.
I've been in my job for a year, so this is the first bunch of pupils I've got to know and then said goodbye to - and quite a few of them have been to talk to me over the year, about their worries, hopes and fears. I also ran a therapeutic group earlier this term for those who were most anxious about the transition to high school.
My hope is that I've played some small part in them building their own 'kernel' of resilience and inner strength, to be able to meet whatever life brings their way in the future.
@sarahhorsfall ahh Sarah, but we know you like to do series :) your A to Z was lovely and you could have done another 'P' today ...to put it nicely 'Pouring Down' :)
@phil_howcroft Thank you :o) I do like to be random too! .. yeah, I was down in London for the day, and it chucked down all day .. passed through some sunshine in the midlands on the way up on the train .. then back to rain in Manchester! lol
