Vintage scales

After a *very* long lie-in, I went for a stroll around West Didsbury in the afternoon in the rain, and called in to a tea shop called 'And the Dish Ran Away with the Spoon' for a pot of tea and a gooey chocolate brownie MMmmmmm :o)

It was my first visit to this particular teashop, even though it's been there for a year. It had some lovely touches - the teapot came with a knitted cosy, the sugar bowl had tongs, and there are cabinets around the room with olde-style cakestands, and vintage packaging.

Even the loo was nicely done out, with this old-fashioned weighing scale as the spare loo-roll holder! It reminded me of my first job, back in the late 70s, in a local greengrocers, where I would regularly use a scale just like this to weigh out fruit and veg, using the pointer to read off the price. "11oz of loo-roll, at 22 pence a pound, that'll be 15 1/2 pence, please!"
Cool POV!
