I was reminded this morning of the similarities between between fishing and photography as I arrived at the lake at the same time this fisherman arrived.
We both got our equipment ready (mostly me putting on some waterproof boots while he got his kayak ready) and greeted each other. He said he got a nice fish the last time he was out and was looking for another today.
I said I was just out and about with my camera and enjoying a few moments before heading to the office hoping to get a good photo. I tried to encourage him where to steer his kayak but he was quiet as it was obviously not where he thought the fish would be.
So I didn't really get the shot I was dreaming of but hope he got his fish. However, I'm absolutely sure we both enjoyed our journey this morning which is way more important anyway.
I can't agree more, it's much better to be out there and enjoy the scenes, views and the great out doors. Being out there is what matters, the photo or the fish are just an added bonus.
Wonderful shot. Fav
Do so agree with what you and Mark have said. The enjoyment of being "there' is what makes the day - that said this is just gorgeous - that way we get to enjoy your "there" - the colors and reflections are spectacular. Fav
