But today is the 300th day of my 365 Project. I was stuck for an appropriate subject, and finally decide to open up the piggy bank and count out 300 pennies to photograph.
I took some shots where you see all 300 of them, and they would have been acceptable, but ultimately I decided to go with this shot for my project picture.
Even though we look at this project as a whole, we can only focus on any one photo at a time. So this iconoclastic penny that's out of formation draws the focus of the shot to symbolize each individual photo that I've posted here.
Warren - I used my 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. My kit lenses are the 18-55 and the 55-200 - I rarely use them, but keep them around for emergency backup. I also took some shots with my 35mm f/1.8 lens, but I have an overall preference for macro.
@sharonlc Ok, I was hoping that maybe you knew something I didn't, as I have never been able to get that dof with the kit, but I thought I would ask. I find that most of my outdoor stuff is best with the 18-105, I got the 70-300 as a gift one year, and that is so much better than the normal 55-200 I never use that one anymore, so if you ever thought of a moderately priced zoom, that would be the next step above the 55-200, and certainly more affordable than the 70-200 f2.8, but that is on my wish list :)
Kerri and Michelle - thank you both :)
Thanks Isis :)

I have the 70-300, and I love it. I've gotten a lot of good shots at baseball games with that lens :)
Thanks :)
