Took my daughter up to Ashton Keynes so she could get some reflection shots with her film camera for her course. I thought I'd have a play with my ND filters for the first time to blur out the stream a bit.
This was taken using 2 ND 0.9 filters (giving -6 stops of exposure) and resulting in a 25 second exposure. The sky was blown out so I had to take a normal exposure and use HDR to get some detail back. Not perfect lighting or composition, but at least I learnt a bit about using the filters!
@cocobella Thanks Corinne - maybe a bit too much - had to correct them in PS as the filters leave a purple cast and I might not have got it exactly right!
This is so pretty, and you've managed to get back that sky very well! I love the water like that... looks so soft and pretty. I need to try figure out how it's done too!
@snaggy Kev did you try reversing one of the filters? Put another filter upside down, this way you still get the water blur but also it will hold the bright sky back. Nice bright colours and good motion blur.
Cracking shot Kev, great water.
