Nice shot! @espyetta I can't tell you what type of daisy it is, but as a Plant Biologist by training I can tell you about the "yellow thingys"! Daisies are part of the Compositae family, and are so named because they are actually two types of flower in one. Each yellow part in the centre is actually an independent 'disc' flower with stamens (male) and a stigma (female). The white 'petals' are actually also independent flowers with just one ray shaped petal each. The whole structure is therefore not really a flower in the botanical sense, but is technically called an inflorescence. More detail than you ever wanted am sure, but still super pretty and a great shot!
@katharinehubbard Fantastic! The things you learn on 365! Thanks Katherine! I'm going to sound so smart when I tell everybody that a daisy is an inflorescence!
