Inspired by @tomo87 's fantastic night shots, I didn't really have a picture for the day, so I just thought I'd try and capture the Milky Way from our back garden.
I live in a village, so it's quite dark, and I can just about see the MW on a dark night with the aked eye. So out came the camera for an experiment as much as anything, and at least I got something - including a bit of our TV aerial!
There is a bit too much light pollution here (think that's a street light reflection at the bottom) - but I'll be trying this again with a better composition!
I thought that thing on the left might be part of the International Space Station! Great shot Kev, lots of detail, something I can't do from my garden because of the light pollution but I would love to try it from a dark site.
Nice Aerial!! I just saw a movie that was talking about nice big aerials. We don't have one, but a satellite dish (very small one). Really lovely starry night shot!
