This is the latest camera to join the household - a 15 year old or so EOS 5 film camera to help my daughter get some better shots for her A Level Photography Course - one of the great things about Canon is that EF lenses fit all EOS cameras whatever the age....
This particular camera seems to be in near mint condition, and has at least two excellent features which have disappeared from Canon's range (love to know if anyone knows why!). One is eye-controlled focussing (yes, really!) - the camera automatically focusses on the focus point you are looking at when you half depress the shutter button. The other is a depth of field mode, which auotmatically adjusts aperture to get the correct dof between two selected focus points - really useful IMHO!
I'm going to try a bit of film work as well so watch this space!
@sturnus@amandal@padlock@gazbadger Thanks guys - this film thing is all slightly daunting - remember shooting a role in York as a 11 year old on an old Kodak Brownie and none of them came out - I think that put me off photography for decades....
In answer to Padlock's question, some of the A Level courses still have a film element, particularly if the school has a darkroom, and the students tend to get extra marks if they use film ove digital where they have a choice, I believe.
Snazzy. I haven't used film in so long. Someone was asking me recently why anyone would use film now that digital is so prevalent. I imagine there are plenty of reasons to, I was not sure of the satisfactory answer mind you.
