Went into Ludlow, our nearest town, this morning.Whilst there had coffee at this hotel. It was built in 1619. it'heavily carved facade, is very much photographed.
It's such an impressive building, I always love seeing it. I hope you had one of their yummy cakes with that coffee. We've just been out to dinner and am feeling totally pogged - I suppose I should have known better than to have a pudding called Chocolate Nemesis. I even had to leave a bit - and Will wasn't there to finish it off for me!
We, over across the water, are always in awe of the age of your buildings and that they're still so beautiful and in use! This is quite a goodie! I imagine I'd be taking photos, too and very distracted! How lucky to have it in your next closest town. (In our next closest town, we've got *nothing* like that...)
Living in the US, it is difficult to even imagine buildings this old...and while Jamestown (Virginia) was settled in 1607, about the only thing left from that settlement is parts of the old fort...which they just discovered in the past 10 years or so! What a beautiful building this is. I would love to see it up close. Such detail Feel free to photograph it another day for us...either a close-up of a part of the outside or the interior where you had your coffee.
That Victorian house I posted did look pretty interesting. The town has a some newer houses built in that same style so that they fit in with the neighborhood but that one was an oldie but goodie...not in the best of shape either but it looked well-lived in...bikes and things in the yard. I can imagine it must be a "money pit" with all the repairs that are probably needed.
