These nasturtiums make a lovely, colourful addition to our veg garden. Also all parts are edible and nutritious. The flowers are are quite sweet whilst the leave have a mustard - cress flavour and the seeds can be picked as a substitute for capers. But mainly I just like the look of them!
these look lovely - such a cheerful bright orange. By chance, I was also doing edible flowers today - I made a batch of lavender fairy-cakes tonight (also during world cup - they were in the oven when I was wandering around taking pics in the Stone Garden - and yes, I did burn them a bit!) to test out the recipe for cookery club at school on Friday.
I just looked on the popular page and our pictures today are both on there side by side! We just need Jane's Dalek on there now! (which it should be really ,it's a great picture!)
We eat all sorts of flowers in a salad. Nasturtiums are one of our favourite.
Mum used to have them gowing wild in her garden when I was a child :D
