The Yew Tree-Taxus baccata

I took this picture of the yew tree in our garden, this morning as you can see from the blue sky its been a lovely day.Our tree must be a , female tree as it says "only one seed is formed from each female flower. The fruit grow on the female trees through the summer and single hard seed is partly embedded in a pulpy bright red berry show up from early September.
Oh so beautiful..love the color. now when you say female tree...does that mean there is also a male tree...and stupid question..does it have flowers???

Love this photo. The color is so beautiful. I did not realize the leaves and nut were so toxic, good thing the birds only eat the red pulp berry. Nice photo.

This looks like a shrub in my yard, has the same berries. Maybe it's the same thing, just ours is trimmed into a bush? Pretty picture.

I can't believe that's even in Britain.

I've just seen your comment on my latest photo. Diana, you win the award for most groan-worthy joke! (I love a groan-worthy joke.)

love all the colours here Diana, beautiful!!

I find it really hard to take berry photos and yours has come out beautifully. I love the colours and the light here. Lesley Haskell my mother-in-law (another 365er) from Wales says that because of the amount of berries we are getting on our bushes it indicates a very bad winter this year.

The light is lovely.

I love the colors of these berries. I don't think I have ever seen anything like this before. Thanks for sharing.

I would not eat those berries. I remember one detective novel there they murdered people this this plant. On the other hand I read somewhere that all parts but the berry are highly poisonous. The seed is also poisonous. Beautiful shot this is anyway.
