We have a lot of mistletoe growing on the apple trees in our orchard . I took this picture today once the frost had cleared..I liked the texture of the lichens and bark. We always pick a bunch and hang it in the hall at Christmas time. Kissing under the mistletoe has long been part of Christmas tradition.
Lucky you having this growing in the garden. It's a strange plant isn't it the way it grows on the trees. We see a lot growing here in Suffolk high up in the trees....it always fetches a good price at the special markets before it ever reaches us. I've always liked the kissing idea! lol !!!
It looks lovely against all that lichen. Yes, you'll definitely have to bring some for Christmas as we don't have any. I thought I was going to have some great holly - it had masses of red berries until yesterday when the birds suddenly seem to have got hungry - there must have been bird version of a Delia recipe for holly berry casserole going round...
