Sorry to subject you to two mediocre pictures in a row. Even worse that you have to look at my little bro both times!
For Mother's Day, which happened to be my mom's birthday as well, we surprised her and treated her to a meal at The Inn at Little Washington. She's only been wanting to go there for over 20 years so I figured it's about time. Superb meal featuring tasty morsels of lamb, a tiny loaded potato not much larger than a pea, and an array of seven mini desserts, each more decadent than the last. Well worth spending the equivalent of half of a mortgage payment on a meal for four.
@rynce@omabluebird Thank you both! I'll have to tease him and tell him everyone thinks he's cute. He'll be so embarrassed! @hjbenson They really are! If only he didn't live 4.5 hours away because I know I'd have a willing model if he were closer. Or at least one I could bribe with desserts when necessary.
@lislee75 It was to die for. I highly recommend it, especially if you can con someone else into paying for your meal. @peterauliciems He was probably reacting to some ridiculous thing my husband said. That's the sort of look my husband is all too used to getting.
@brumbe Oh no! I hope you can wrangle another invite since it's a wonderful place. My picture doesn't do it justice but the Bentley in the background might give you an idea of how classy it is.
@sourkraut I grew up in Annapolis and going there was considered the highest form of a romantic gesture. The only thing that could top it was to be engaged while eating there. One day I will make it there, but with so many restaurants in Philadelphia I have to eat my way through, it may be a bit.
