Ugh. Horrible, horrible wasted evening spent trying out four different ideas for photos and not a single one panned out. Out of focus, fat arms, bad lighting, boring, I've seen it all tonight. I give up. This is utter crap but it's the best I could come up with tonight. Now I just barely have time to clean up the mess I made with my various photo shoots, work out, and go to bed. Great use of an evening.
Nice brolly.... You look ever so slightly scared of the camera...

Weird note, is that velvet or satin? (they look similar on camera) If velvet I'll have to send Ryan over... Velvet jackets bought on whims, he says velour but to cut it down "Yesh Itsh Velour" in a vaguely connery accent...

Most illogical segways in history? Yesh

@killerjackalope I was probably scared that the camera would never cooperate and produce a usable shot tonight. Still not entirely convinced it did but at least it's tucked away for the evening so I can do something else with my time. Heh, I wish it were velvet or satin but, alas, it's some strange stretchy polyester blend. If only my clothes or this photo could be more exotic and interesting...

haha I have been there when you think of a shot in your mind but it does not pan out really sucks... But this shot is great the shirt looks like velvet to me has kinda a fuzziness to it but that could just be texture

@relicsong Well, thanks. As long as everyone else has to suffer too I can learn to be OK with the frustration. :)

@sourkraut we all suffer for our art at times just part of the gig

@sourkraut Charity shops... That's all that needs said on finding awesome and curious clothes...

It does look velvety on camera... Weird how some fabrics go... I have faced my camera away from me for the day, I'm not sure if it's ashamed but it should be... Looking at me like that...

For me, this would be a great full-on selfie. I...just...can't....do....it.

@killerjackalope I've seen what your camera's been up to lately and it's right to be ashamed.

@jgoldrup Well thank you! You should give it a go. Try my method of taking a million shots and sifting through them hoping to find one where you look nice and normal. Or at least a close approximation as you see here.

@sourkraut ~ My goal is to produce one full-on before my 'series' is done. Eeek.

We didn't see the other "mess ups" so this one looks great. Kuddos on selfies. I just can't seem to bring myself to do more.

@jgoldrup I have one full on, and I think that's about it for me. I'm too uncomfortable to do more than like, a foot, or an eye, haha.

I like what you are trying to do here. To me this kinda reminds me of the "mother of guadalupe" ...pretty cool! :)

Aw, wrinkles! You look great and I dig this selfie. Not a waste of a night at all!
May 12th, 2011
not crap at all as it is always nice to see 365 friends - I like this shot of you!!

I love this picture! I seem to hate my own selfies too, so it's understandable that you can see all the imperfections that no one else notices, and think every one is a fail... I think we all do that. Kudos to admitting you take a ton of pics, hoping one turns out alright; I can put over 100 pics on my camera of the same subject from different angles, and maybe come up with 1 or 2 that I actually like.

This is beautiful, I love the dark blue dress with your dark blue eyes and dark hair. You are lovely. Now if you want to see fat arms and wrinkles you should see what I crop out of my photos. Of course I am a few years (!) your senior.

I love the look on your face. Some days I hate my camera too and nothing works. Ahhh well at least it's behind you! On to better things! and at least you didn't post barbie heads for your daily photo!

I like both your dress and umbrella (the color of it works nicely with your eyes color). Overall, very good selfie. A lady who lunches maybe? :)

hey yes great use of a evening indeed... we learn with success but we learn more by our failures.... Take what you learned tonight and dont do it again... or do it better..........

@nikkers Lesson #1: Forget about making dinner if it means I'm going to lose the remaining natural light of the day. Got it. I'll tell my husband you said this is OK.

Lesson #2: Spend more time at the gym or don't try to take a picture with my fat arm in the foreground. :)

@sourkraut .. Your husband being the saint that he is should have made dinner for you :) :)
and I hear ya about the armm... lol for me its my arse,, but somehow it manages to get in my daily shot every couple of months,, will have to have a little chat with it!

I think that one is quite cute! I like your slightly shy look!

we all suffer for our art...bravo! in my case I sometimes lose followers for mine...keep on path! and never give up! we are all entitled to moments like this and your photo is art in that it captures the emotions of what you wished to share
