Sneaking in with an entry for the travel theme on the very last day. It's a pity this great theme, which is perfect for me since I live to travel, coincided with the Cindy Sherman artist challenge I was so inspired by. It's also a pity that it seems to take me until at least Wednesday to think up good ideas for any given theme so I lose out on those early days. Maybe I'll revisit this theme on my own the next time I'm out of ideas.
An amusing note about my globe: I "inherited" this from my grandmother when she moved across the country to California and it is a genuine antique. Why, when was the last time anyone referred to "French Sudan" or "Belgian Congo"? But there they are on my globe. :)
I am going to say something, I feel so honored when I take part on a challenge and you are there.
Anyway, this photo is gorgeous, love the tones, the composition, and specially lightening. Awesome!
@peterauliciems I think you might be a bit biased. :) It's high on my list although I'll admit that long plane ride is not at all appealing. Perhaps one day for the Australian Open I can treat my brother to a visit.
@alecio That is one of the nicest things anyone's ever said to me! Thanks for your kind words. It means a lot coming from you because you're so talented and your shots are always enviable. I, on the other hand, always feel intimidated when I'm in a challenge with you because of that. :)
@naladka :) It is a fun idea in theory but, like a friend pointed out to me, what if you wind up picking somewhere terrible like New Jersey? I happen to live there already so I think I'd be entitled to a second try. That's the sort of thing that probably only works out in the movies.
