What follows is a true story from my traumatic childhood. Growing up with two brothers I had to become accustomed to a certain amount of teasing. And by "certain amount" I mean a never-ending barrage of insults that to this day remains our primary form of communication. My dad found this ugly little critter at a yard sale and brought it home for his offspring to enjoy. I'm not sure what my mother's reaction was but we kids loved it. Even if I had to endure variations of the following on a regular basis:
Brother #1: "What's that?"
Brother #2: "It's a brain sucker." *puts creature onto my head*
Brother #1: "What's it doing?"
Brother #2: "Starving."
i was the third with 2 older bros too..definitely scared by them...my eldest bro tried to flush me down the toilet when i was really little and my bum fell into the toilet...for some reason i always remember that moment...shocking that i am not a total mess as an adult...just a partial one :) xoxooxoxox love your shot.
LOVE the selective color, and your story really struck a chord for me and I'm sure anyone else with an obnoxious brother or two. (Is there any other kind?) So you got custody of the brain sucker?
Thanks, everyone! A little scary to hear how many of us can relate. Brothers are awful things, aren't they? But I love mine now that they've matured. A bit.
@allie912 Sadly, the original one was donated to charity by my mother and we had no idea what the thing was called in order to replace it. Then a few years ago I found one still in its package at a toy shop specializing in vintage toys so I bought that one and was able to track down two more on Ebay to give as gifts to my brothers. So now we all have our very own hungry brain sucker.
lol! Oh my gosh! I literally laughed out loud! So funny! I am sorry you got tormented so much though... I was an oldest child, so I did this kind of stuff to my little sister all the time.
I was that obnoxious older brother and my sister turned out just fine(so says the mental institution)....I so knew that joke was going to fit in somewhere looking at the photo. Totally a great shot!
