Case Mazzanti - part 2 of 5

This is the week of Case Mazzanti a five day project inside the 365 project. I took some photos of an ancient building in Verona, I made a panorama and then I sliced it into five pieces. I did this because otherwise the whole panorama would be too wide to fit in the website and all the details would be lost.

Initially, the paint on the facades was only made to protect wall surfaces from rain, snow and other inclement weather, but soon it was used as a precious decorative element. On the houses of the wealthy began to appear geometric shapes, tapestries imitations, complex figurative friezes and even whole cycles, made with earth pigments that mixed with water were applied on fresh plaster. Wind, rain and sun with the inexorable passing of time have erased much of its picturesque appearance and colorful of the "urbs picta", but something wonderful is still remained, such as Case Mazzanti.
I didn't know the history of these. Gorgeous.
