How pleasant is the old part of town?

Wednesday was a busy day as we were preparing for a few days away. My husband knows all the back doubles in our town, and often crosses Mount Pleasant which rises up along the ridge from the town centre going south. We often remark that many of the old streets have the best views of the countryside beyond, Behind the parked car we catch a glimpse of hills way outside the current town's boundaries.
