I've never seen an Emperor even though I know a site where they live - sigh.
These detailed images are wonderful and a definite favourite

@jesika2 Buy a pheromone trap and you will attract them easy

@steveandkerry I intend buying pheromones for the Yellow Legged Clear Wing moth, my sighting was number 59 in Yorkshire since 1883!
In July I'll be looking for England's rarest, the Dark Bordered Beauty which lives about 6 miles from me, with 2 more sites in Scotland. In 2015, only 6 were seen. Last year I saw a total of 13 over 3 visits, the conservation project seems to be working.
And yes, I'll be going backwards through your project, today I'll post a photo of my newly eclosed Angle Shades.

@jesika2 Sounds exciting (probably only to us!). Its always nice and especially when unexpected to catch a rarity. Last week a Tawny Pinion appeared (only 4 records). I have seen no clearwings but hope to address this when I visit David Brown (Warwickshire county recorder ) this June. I look forward to the Angle Shades!

@steveandkerry Indeed, a rarity is very special. Our local "Moth Man" a Prof at the Uni, has only ever seen 1 Yellow Legged Clear Wing and that was from years of pheromones!
Good luck with your hunt!

There's great detail in these closeups that we wouldn't see with the naked eye.
