Day 030, Year 5 - Electric View From Level 42

Best viewed large, on black if you have time :)

This is the Sheikh Zayed Road junction, in Dubai with the awesome Burj Khalifa skyscraper in the background, as shot from Level 42 of the Shangri-La hotel. After making arrangements with the hotel I headed up for a two hour time slot a few hours after landing from Doha earlier in the day. I spent most of my time on my own up on the balcony and it really is a great view.

It's a bit cheesy now, and this view is quite a well-known viewpoint but with this was my 5th trip to Dubai and the first time I had managed to get to this spot, so I am happy with it.

I loved shooting sunset from here so I thought sunrise would be good too, so I booked in for Sunday and went back on my last morning of the week.

The choice of black and white with the yellow only still showing was to do something a bit different.
