Ready for ignition!

I had such great photo opportunities in the harbour today. I took far too many pics to post so I'll save some for other days.
I felt like a little girl in a candy store ;-)
There was this Damselfly sunbathing on an old boat. He was just in the mood for a photoshoot. I've never seen such beautiful insect so close ever before in my life. Super enjoyment.
Photographing him was a real challenge not in the least because I used my manual focus. I focused on the place where his wings are attached to his body and it gave me the suggestion of a rocket starting it's engines. That's why I chose this title ;-)
After a minute or 10 he took off and I rushed home to check him out with digital eyes ;-)
Beautiful color ... it's a damselfly. Very much like a dragonfly, but damselflies fold their wings at rest, while dragonflies hold theirs out perpendicular to their body.

So good - I really love the overall effect. The combination of blurred movement and fine focus, and the colours. Just fantastic!!! Fav

Isnt it a great feeling when you know you are getting a series of good shots. This is so wonderful. Such an unusual angle and great to get this detail which usually goes unnoticed. Love your commentary too.
