Oyster Roast by stownsend

Oyster Roast

Jenny turned 35 and decided to have an Oyster Roast for her birthday! They have a home in the woods in South Carolina, USA and it was perfect for the roast. They do them by the shovel full and then throw them out on a large table with a round hole in the middle. Everyone brings their own oyster knife and gathers around the table and shucks oysters, throwing the shells through the hole in the table to the trash can underneath. It wasn't too cold, the company was great and we had such a good time! (there was plenty of "regular" food for people who don't eat oysters - like me!)
It really does sound like a good time, especially for those who like oysters. I would have enjoyed the other food.

Fascinating! They have an oyster roast every year for alumnae/alumni of our school. Teachers are also invited but I have never gone.
