Commute Day 3

I am wondering how long I will live with the orange cones on the side of Hwy 17. They are finally going to be widening the whole road and the construction took off like gangbusters and then just stopped. It certainly is not a pretty commute but I was late again and this is the fastest way to go. On the right-hand side of the road you can see a little "booth" where on occasion, someone sets up their Sweetgrass Baskets for sale. They are very lovely and very expensive.
Oh don't you hate when those construction cones go up on a road you commute all the time! It seems sometimes they tear up the road, put up the cones, and then all the workmen disappear, sometimes for weeks at a time. It's like they got a call for a more important job somewhere else. Hope the construction is not too long for you, Suzie. And you know.......it will be nice when it's finished!

We're dealing with a HUGE project at an intersection that we use all of the time. It's hard to avoid it. NOT fun - and I'm married to a paving contractor so he's always explaining why things are going so slow. :)

I bought a tiny basket in Charleston the first time we visited. I treasure it. I'll bet it would cost a lot more if I were to buy it today.
