I started my photo-a-day project on September 6th, 2004 on livejournal, transferred it here around 2011. All photos were taken on the day they're posted...
This shot was taken with an old coolpix 950. (made back in 1999) I opened it up and replaced the hotmirror (the infrared blocking glass that sits on top of the sensor) with a clear piece of glass. So this is visible and IR spectrum.
But if you have a infrared filter, then you use long exposures with a tripod, set your white balance off a sunny patch of grass, and use relatively small apertures. IR isn't easy to do, but it's fun.
