Many of the plants in the gardens I've been touring recently are suffering terribly as a result of the drought we've had but the water lilies are loving the hot sunny days.
We got a bit of rain two days ago but not a good soaking. There was wind tho, in fact there were "micro bursts" not far from us ... tornado like damage without the twisting. A friend has two giant trees on her house and two more on her vehicles and hundreds of others down elsewhere on her property. Last count there were about 8,000 homes without power and they're not expected to get it back until tomorrow night at the earliest. We're usually among the last to get power restored in situations like this but we only lost power for a couple of hours.
Sorry to hear about your weather - the weather in England has been shocking - just rain, rain, and more rain. Wish we could send you some. This shot is gorgeous.
lovely shot, Anne - certainly glad to hear that you were unharmed, but it's a shame about your friend's troubles. With all the heat we've had, I think it's amazing how damaging the popup storms can be.
@russianblue both west and east of ottawa - i think the west was hit worst, in the same general area that could end up being declared a disaster area due to the drought.
This is just gorgeous, Anne! We are supposed to get the severe thunderstorms tomorrow. I hope out damaged, huge maple lasts. It is slated to come down on Saturday due to a large crack right down the middle of the trunk. Cross your fingers.
