Succulents

I saw this pretty pot of succulents on a recent garden tour. I like the GIANT echiveria in the top. The pot looks small in this pic but it's actually 40-50 cm or tall, if I recall correctly.

Many thanks for dropping by.

This is really pretty and the shades of green are lovely. It's funny but it doesn't matter that there are no flowers because it is lovely in itself with different textures with a nice contrast against the shingle

How different from my garden. I have no succulents. They are beautiful, though, I need to rethink that. Hope you are having a relaxing summer!

I love succulents! Is that one at the top, in layman's terms, called "Hen and Chicks?" MY grandmother had one of those....I will never forget how we were in her backyard and she was telling me all about them.
August 11th, 2012
thanks marybeth! yes, it's hens and chicks but it's a giant version, 3 or 4 times bigger than the ones in my garden! ;-) i think the woman who grew these said she bought new ones each season but in your neck of the woods, you probably wouldn't have to do that. my little ones are hardy through the winter and I don't have to re-buy them each year. @espyetta

@sunnygreenwood Yes, we are warm enough here they'd probably be okay. I should check into getting some. I love these planters with the holes on the sides.

A lovely composition. The gravel, pot and plants, that succulent sounds a great sight at that size.
