Small Town Welcome

As I was driving into a small town near here, I spotted this deer in the middle of the road. I slowed and decided that it probably wasn't worth trying to dig the camera out of the bag on the seat next to me as she would be gone in a blink. Then I thought, well, it's still there, maybe I'd have time to get the camera after all. Got the camera, turned it on, then off again in my frustration in trying to turn it on quickly, then turned it on again. Much to my surprise, the deer was still there. Took a pick, zoomed and took another, drove a bit closer, took another pic, drove a bit closer, took another pic ... and so on ... after 11 pics, it flashed its tail and sauntered off as cool as a cucumber. That encounter made my day! This is pic 7 or 8, showing a bit of the town in behind, rather than the deer's long eye lashes! lol

The mist in the background is the early morning air with the sunshine just starting to hit it for the day.
