A Back View

I like the lines on the wing and tail feathers of Chickadees.

These little guys are so curious and friendly that it would be fairly easy to get them to land on a hand full of seeds if we made the effort.

Here's some info from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology: "The Black-Capped Chickadee hides seeds and other food items to eat later. Each item is placed in a different spot and the chickadee can remember thousands of hiding places."

Many thanks for dropping by.
I love your bird shots, Anne.........the detail on this little chickadee is fabulous!

Nice detail! I have had them take peanuts from my hand and they do fly away with them.

Awwww, what a good catch. Love the detail and colors. I'm always happy to see the little chickadees visit us later in the winter. I didn't know that about hiding seeds.

Great detail on this little chickadee....the nuthatches do the same....and the blue jays and sparrows steal all the ones they can find!

Don't you love how those feathers all lay in there and stack up? Until I can be husband to hell me with hanging my new feeders, I will just put seed on the rail! Like you do! Great idea!
