I like the lines on the wing and tail feathers of Chickadees.
These little guys are so curious and friendly that it would be fairly easy to get them to land on a hand full of seeds if we made the effort.
Here's some info from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology: "The Black-Capped Chickadee hides seeds and other food items to eat later. Each item is placed in a different spot and the chickadee can remember thousands of hiding places."
I have not visited your project in quite some time and glad you visited mine. I run out of time all the time. I love this photo. The detail you captured is incredible. FAV
Awwww, what a good catch. Love the detail and colors. I'm always happy to see the little chickadees visit us later in the winter. I didn't know that about hiding seeds.
Don't you love how those feathers all lay in there and stack up? Until I can be husband to hell me with hanging my new feeders, I will just put seed on the rail! Like you do! Great idea!
