Kala and Barry put out about 5 lbs of seeds every day on about 60 feet of railing. The amount of seed goes up if/when more grosbeaks arrive. Right now we have about 20 visiting at a time.
This pic was taken through the living room window. The whitish patch in the trees is the reflection of a lamp. The reddish leaves at the bottom are part of an indoor shamrock plant.
That is alot of seed. Do you grow your own? Do you set up a tripod in the window or how do you get all the great shots without the window glare? I love your deck!
@jannkc thanks jann. rarely tripod - sometimes for video and that's about it. as for reflection, if the camera is zoomed and close to the glass, straight on rather than at an angle, there's little to no reflection. sometimes i'm outside too which of course solves that problem. and lastly, no we don't grow our own but it sure would be nice!
Wow Anne....that's incredible...I used to use less then 5 lbs in one season...but slowly the birds are finding us and I am using a little more...nothing like that though.
