We had a couple of weeks of great woods-walking weather --- that's the period of time where the snow is gone and the bugs haven't arrived yet! The black flies and mosquitoes are out in full force now. Poppa and the kids continuously work on the Harry Potter trail. It's a stretch of path bordered with wonky branches threaded among each other. That's where they're headed in this pic.

We went to the cottage for the first time today. So good to get up there to see the land. Black flies have started, but aren't biting yet in my area. Next weekend, could be a total different story though. We're still planning the off-grid cottage - might build next spring. Can't wait to have a solid structure on the land. ;)
@espyetta thanks marybeth! a little further along the trail, there's a stretch with some weird dead branches built up on the sides. it has a bit of an eerie feel for the wee kids mostly because it's tall enough to be over their heads and feels a bit tunnel'ish. it just reminded poppa of hp so the name stuck.
