This hummer sat on the branch outside the window for a minute while I snapped away. When I was taking this pic I thought maybe it would be the last sighting for this year but as I type this a day later, there is still the odd visit to the feeders, but only females. I haven't noticed a male in a few days.
So sad to think all our fun summer birds will be off to the south soon. But I know you and I both get some wonderful winter birds to our feeders and deck. Can't wait to see your winter shots. :)
I was thinking the same thing last weekend...one morning they will fill up their lil travel mugs and hit the road...without even a thanks for the feeder!....:)
She's lovely. We only saw a few female hummers at my sister's place on the Island...no males, guess they leave sooner to stake out a place in the south for when the females come down...same as when they come north!
