I've been watching 3 blue herons this summer, two on our river and one [in the pic two days ago] near where our granddaughters live. We see this one on this same rock almost every time we go up-river.
They definitely are creatures of habit it seems - I'm the one that can't remember where he likes by the river and manage to flush him out nearly every time I walk there - and he's too fast to catch. Can't see him close against the bank and I forget to stare ahead (way ahead). Love your reflection - pretty setting.
I always find it a thrill to see one of these. This summer I've seen two around here, after seeing none for several years. Love your comp in this capture, and the reflection is lovely.
