Ming Tombs by sunnygreenwood

Ming Tombs

After an awesome morning at the Great Wall of China, we visited a couple more sights near Beijing --- the Cloisonne Factory and the Ming Tombs.

It was raining so we kept the camera's tucked away for the most part. This is a model, maybe a metre long or so, taken inside at the Ming Tombs. It's for those wondering how on earth the huge building is supported structurally. Here's a link if you're interested in seeing the a pic of the real thing. http://www.crystalinks.com/chinatombs.html.

The Jin Dian Cloisonne factory was interesting [Cloisonne is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects with enamels and inlays of gemstones, glass, and other materials.] Barry took a couple of pics and I'll post one of those next.
Stunning model..hope you enjoying your trip.
