Here's another view of Kunming Lake, the man-made lake in the Summer Palace Gardens, just north west of Beijing. The lake was excavated in the 1200's.
There were lots of cool touristy type boats like this dragon boat. The beautiful 17 arch bridge in the background is one of about 30 bridges located in the Gardens. It was constructed in the 1700's and stretches 150 meters between the eastern shore of the lake and Nanhu Island. It was another feature of the Gardens that we only saw from a distance, unfortunately.
