He was right outside the window just a couple of meters away, maybe to let me know the suet block was gone? Or more likely, he was scaring away the little woodpeckers and nuthatches so only he got the last remaining crumbs on the ground. He lives here year round, probably with a mate but we haven't seen her in a while. They typically live in cavities of dead trees. We've left quite a few dead trees standing around the property to provide homes and food for critters but I have yet to find their home.

The fog has continued since I took this pic, but the snow has turned to rain, so almost all of the snow is gone ... again.
