I had to attend this meeting regarding the voluntary work I´m involved with. Luckily I had some spare time before it started, so I walked to nearby river and took some pics. It looks like it wohn´t be possible to take a shortcut across the river much longer. I´m clueless when it comes to city photography, this I suppose is a start.

It´s pretty cool actually.

You bet this is a start! You have a good eye for a shot, - for example you included the boat bit at bottom left to "anchor" the image, then the path across the mud/sand leads the eye nicely to the building which is an interesting place for the eye to rest before it takes in the rest of the shot.
