Buds in a hurry

Somebody should just stop me from over processing my pics, seriously. I started with these beautiful buds of flowers that I found today at my backyard -it looks like your flowers have arrived Nancy, thank you so much :)! I tried to find a good angle to shoot them but found all these weird angles instead. From this angle that bud (for it´s only one bud and its mirror image) kind of looks like a fish to me.
Haha...I am so glad the flowers are arriving for you...in the backyard even! :) It is an interesting angle and POV. I like the colors, focus and the black background. That one bud might look a bit....like an upside down fishy.:)

@nanderson Thank you Nancy, yes very good delivery indeed, straight to my backyard :) I see the same thing, upside down fish :D

I love the sheen on them and the textures. Great colour. I guess if I had to try very hard to see a fish in it, I might see a purple dolphin with its open mouth down at the bottom, but to me it looks like a bud!

@sturnus Thank you Carol, I have a habit of seeing all kind of forms in most odd places, mouth open upside down fish is what I see here. I´m glad you see a bud.

I love the purple against the dark background and I am guilty of too much editing, I just like to tweak things a little and then... :)

i don't think its over edited, great lighting and colors and i love the black background and angle too! beautiful shot!

Looks cool to me. And fishy. One thing to think about is negative space; could the image benefit from adding it ? In this case it would be easy to just increase canvas size and fill the space with black...

@janim Yes you´re right about the negative space. The truth is that there were some negative space before I started to process this pic. I don´t know why but I always seem to be putting everything into tighter and tighter crop and just can´t seem to stop myself. I try to remember your words next time or re-read your comment when I notice myself doing that. Thank you for your tips Jani, they are always very much appreciated :)
