Green curve

I found that curvy treeline very pleasing but I don´t know if I should have cropped this shot a bit more, so I would very much like to hear what do you think. I´m just experimenting here so please feel free to tell your opinions and no pressure cos there really isin´t any right or wrong answers, just opinions and I value each and every one of those.
I like how your eye following the line up the hill...I don't think I would have cropped it more..since it is a very pleasing 2/3 sky...:) Nice shot! I like it. a lot! I am working on Architecture Two but it is a very hard place to get a shot without getting run over...but it will be a super fun shot..for you!

I like the line of trees, the image of the skyline. I think I might have cropped it closer to make the line of trees more of a 1/3 - 2/3 ratio. OR, another possibility is to post-process to bring out more of the clouds so the contrast isn't quite so sharp compared to the dark green sky. I'd maybe crop it about 1/3 down from the really large cloud on the right so you don't lose that cloud, but emphasize the three layers: big fat cloud, wispy clouds, tree line. Cool shot to try to analyze!

I love it....I always play with shots but seem to like things further out and not too close.

The sky has a picture in itself and treeline curves add just the right touch;))

I like it as it is and think it would loose something cropped more. Great shot.

I think I might have cropped out a little more of the sky, to get more detail in the trees, and especially to draw a bit more attention to the way the light falls on that nearer layer of them to the right, creating a sort of supplementary curve to the main line (if that makes any sense)..

I think I would crop out more of the sky and try to deepen the clouds that were left.

I like it just the way it is. Very pretty!

IMO, just a tiny slice off the top. Besides the 1/3-thing mentioned above, the clouds would appear more massive because the upper "edge" of the clouds disappears.

@nanderson Thank you so much Nancy, very much appreciate your oppinion. I´ll be waiting for that Architecture shot :) And don´t worry about it, I misspell words etc all the time, lol.

@taffy Thank you Taffy, very much appreciate you tooking the time to analyze this, I tried this at b&w and in sepia to minimize the contrast but I just didn´t want to lose all that green but I see your point in that as well the ratios too. Thank you very much for your opinion :)

@megmills Thank you very much Meg, I like to play too, that´s why I am here, to find out where the limits are. It´s great to have other´s opinions on your shots, sometimes I´m just so lost with everything and really need to hear what others think. Your thoughts are very much appreciated :)

I may have been tempted to crop a little off the sky and make it more like a panorama, long and narrow, I think it's a great shot
June 12th, 2013
@ness50 Thank you Vanessa, yes I think a little crop from the top would make this better. Interesting idea that panorama, thank you, very much appreciate your opinion :)

I think it's been said before, a great picture and love the idea but I'd have gone for a classic rule of thirds crop. Great eye you have though for an interesting image

@ch1ppy_m1nton Thank you Chippy, appreciate your opinion very much and you´re right about the rule of tree, it´s a little short of that so we´ll just nip a little off from the top.

I love the treeline, but I should more crop of the sky, but it is so hard to make a cool photo of trees and sky only. I think you did well
June 12th, 2013
@tstb Thank you Tineke, very much appreciate your opinion, the cropping of the sky seems to be a very popular opinion so I believe that is just what this needs
June 12th, 2013
I like the tree line. I think the photo is fine with 2/3 of the sky. The sky is also lovely to see with the pattern of the clouds
June 12th, 2013
@joyce2013 Thank you so much Joyce, really appreciate your opinion. The 2/3 is fine in my opinion too but maybe I should nip just a little more off to make it more balanced.
June 12th, 2013
That curve of trees is so pleasing. If anything at all, I would like to see just a little more sky at the top if possible (without loosing any of the trees). But it is a lovely shot just as it is.
June 12th, 2013
@happysnap Thank you Linda, very much appreciate your comment and opinion. Yes there actually was a little more sky to begin with, I cropped some of it off. Maybe there should really be more sky or then just a little less, hmm interesting. Thank you Linda!

I think this works just fine, Susale! I really like the curvy tree line, and the sky looks totally amazing! I'm trying to imagine this with more trees and less sky (1/3 : 2/3 proportion), but I really think I'd rather see the opposite! I know it's not possible with this shot, but I'd love to see the same scene captured vertically, with the thin line of trees at the bottom, and the large portion of that magnificent sky. But hey, that's just me, and I've been obsessed with clouds and sky lately :D
June 16th, 2013
@lunaksi Thank you Lunaksi, hey that´s a interesting idea, I could crop the trees a little bit and the sky here is already cropped, so it could be done. I did shoot that originally with more sky but I don´t know why I did crop a little of it away.
June 18th, 2013
I like it just like this...the sky is wonderful and I agree with above, I love the curve in the tree line! Great image!! :)

@christinalee Thank you Chrissie, I really appreciate you taking the time to give your opinion and I´m happy you like it the way it is.
