Crying rock by susale

Crying rock

Do you see it? Sorry about the tone, I just had to add some colour for it to get more visible.

I had such a great time last night going photographing with a friend. It´s so interesting to see how others photograph the same subject but it´s also such a source of photography envy. After we had finished all the photographying, we looked each other´s pics through and it´s just so not fun to see such a great pics from the same place and the same subject you have taken yours, not so great ones. I was so ready to switch memory cards, lol.

We also went to shoot that castle/manson in tuesday´s shot and we completely lost the track of time so it actually was midnight when we shoot that place, we saw some very creepy shadows and evil faces in those pics, not cool. My friend said to me after looking though my shots of the manson that don´t look these too closely tonight, needless to say I did not look them at all but found some scary shadows this morning. Next time I´ll go there in daylight for sure.
Yes I can see it. The rock is crying. Great photo

Hahaha, I can so relate to the 'photography envy', it's a real nightmare, LOL
Regarding this shot, I totally love it, I can clearly a very sad face, crying muddy tears... interesting & weird... great formula for a good photo :)
Bravo for spotting the detail!

I can see a few faces in the rocks! Perhaps they are trolls;) Well spotted for your crying one! Love your image and know what you mean about photography envy. Went to Paris for the weekend with some other photographers at the beginning of May. I liked my shots - until I saw what the others had done from the same views.

Such an emotional shot from such a simple subject. So many would have walked on by and not even seen this. This "face" has such a doleful look about it and I love that one of the "eyes" is heart shaped. Well done.

hmm I actually see gaping mouths with a lot of drooling and the guy on the left has a nice moustache too, while the other guy has more of a "amis"-stache going on... ;-D Well seen, this kind of images are always fun to look at.

So, why did your friend's shots feel better than yours ?

Great spotting. I can definitely see the tear, as well as the image itself just looks so sad.

Don't feel too bad about your pictures; I think many of us tend to think others' pictures are always better than ours. I like this shot and I see what you mean about the crying. I used to go caving in West Virginia, and these formations remind of a water course we followed in a certain cave, which looked just like this.

@joyce2013 Thank you Joyce, glad you can see the crying face

@lunaksi Thank you so much Lunaksi for such a lovely comment and oh you too, isin´t it just so annoying when you get the photography envy. We should perhaps remember that others might get envious of our pics too, lol

@sturnus Thank you Carol, oh you too, photography envy is a horrible thing but it only drives us to take better pics ourselves, don´t you think ;)

@happysnap Thank you Linda for saying such nice things, I love that heart shaped "eye" and I photographed it by its self too, bleeding heart. Maybe I´ll post it here after some processing, it´s quite beautiful and interesting by itself too

@janim Lol, I can totally see the one one the right but have a hard time seeing that left one, but I think I see him too. Well probably cos they are better, with better composition, more details added, different technique used etc. I´m not envious in general, juts when I take pics with somebody side by side and they do it better, then I can´t help kicking myself, why didn´t I see this that way etc. Ja onhan toisten kuvat aina mielenkiintosempia just siks, et ne ei oo omia...ja täytyy tietty muistaa, että omillakin kuvilla voi joskus olla samanlainen vaikutus muihin ;)

@jodimuli Thank you Joey, the rock looks pretty sad to me, so maybe not tears of joy

@nanderson Thank you Nancy for such lovely comment, I´m so glad you could see the tears from thunbnail too

@kwind Thank you Kim, the rock looks sad to me but hopefully it won´t be crying anymore, maybe today it´s laughing

@trudio Thank you so much Trudi, I´m so happy you love it

@wind_of_the_sothern_sea Thank you Arefin, the one on the right is very much like a heart shaped, I photographed it all by itself too.

@tstb Thank you Tineke, photo with fantasy, I like that

@pandora Thank you Susan, I´m happy you can see it

@sansjuan Thank you Nita, yes the tears rolling down its cheecks, I´m glad you can see the tear

@taffy Thank you Taffy, yes I think the face looked very sad too

@tristansmum Thank you Stephanie for your kind words, it´s true, everyone elses pics tend to feel more interesting than your own, I wonder why that is. This place is actually normally under water too and there´s a quite big stream at this point so the water modifieds these shapes. Now the place was pretty try and I could go and photograph these formations, there were lots of different formations but I liked this sad face the best.

Yes! Great capture and a good eye! ALso love the heart shaped "eye"...Nicely spotted. On our Hawaii trip with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law who are such great seasoned photographers,..it was hard not to be envious of their skills and results. But was also pushed and inspired by them as well.

I see a skull .... but not an evil one .....
July 1st, 2013
@eyesmile Thank you Gena, yes that heart shaped "eye" is my favorite too, I really liked it, it´s like a bleeding heart. Yes that´s true, it has the same effect for me too, just gotta push harder, lol

@ch1ppy_m1nton Oh a skull, interesting. Yes...a skull, maybe....thank God it´s not a evil one, lol
