Very symmetric and a great subject. Not a fan of the vignette effect in this shot, makes the shot feel a bit cramped IMO. High-key b&w works really well... You really filled the frame, but did you consider cropping even more ? The lamps don't need to be completely visible, the viewer's mind can fill in the gaps... Also, the symmetry will be even more effective if you can find a way to break it somehow, just a little bit. ...just some food for thought :)
@janim So it´s no no for vignette then...yes you´re right, it does look a bit cramped now that I think about it, I kind of thought the vignette would create the feeling like the lights would be on......interesting suggestions, must try them out, yes I´m sure a bit cropping could work, break the symmetry hmmm, I´ll see what I can come up with. Thank you for the feedback and suggestions!
Although I'm not a big fan of vignetting, I do think it lends a feeling of glow here, which goes well with the subject. It has an oldy worldy feel ti it. Well done.
Nice symmetry but I agree I think the vignette is a bit distracting here. It might work better in sepia. That could also give the impression of "glow" where the black gives "darkness".
@mercuria Thank you Ariel, you´re so right about the sepia, thank you. I uploaded the other version of this slightly cropped and toned in sepia, I´d appreciate if you´d have time to check that out and tell me what you think
