Silence of the dolls revisited by susale

Silence of the dolls revisited

Today I reprocessed one of my older pics, a pic that I wasn´t happy with and it bothered me. I thought it could have had a bit more contrast so that´s what I gave to it. I tried not to overdo it.

Here´s the original, some of you may remember it :

What a difference a bit of tweaking makes! Being Halloween this now has a little bit of a spooky feel to it with one eye covered and her stern look through her hair with the other eye.

I like this better - it is a strangely dark picture and so right for today

This is spookier than the original!

amazing the different between those photos

great processing

Perhaps just me, but the original one was more real, true and honestly creepy...

I like both edits, the main thing for me is her stare and it's effective in both versions. I was thinking that a crop just above the eye could emphasize the spookiness, makes her look a bit more serious... Or what do you think?

I like both edits too. However I think this one is more sinister - perhaps it is the Halloween vibe that is around.

I think I prefer this one - both pretty spooky

She is still scary indeed! :)

It definitely has a sinister quality to it! Works very well in B&W and perfect for the day!

I do like the higher key look to the image.

Beautiful in high key.much more intense

@janim It's all about the stare for me too. Yes I think you are right about there crop and I think it could work just only with that, no need for any other stuff, just the stare elikkäs jos rajais kaiken muun pois ja jättäis vaan olennaisen.....

@ericdibosco Thank you Eric, I like the original too but thre's just too many detais and I thought this edit would emphasize the stare more but see your point about more real.

@susale ...nothing wrong with this, though, and I think you have achieved perfectly what you intended to...very much a matter of personal tastes and preferences!

A beautiful but somewhat unsettling shot which definitely begs the viewer to figure out a story behind the picture. Very well done, fav!

Oh yes, I did remember this shot. It's quite captivating. The girl is beautiful, yet this conveys a disturbance of some sort. REally makes for a fasinating shot.
