I know that nobody hates anything without a good reason. There´s always a reason and I of course have a good one.
You see when I was young, nineteen or so, I dated this photographer and I got very used to being photographed –with or without my clothes. Later on I started seeing this other guy who was very much into old cars, and he had this old classic GT car which was pretty unique –at least in his own mind.
The first time he introduced that car to me was also the time I got to hate it. Used to modeling as I was, I suggested to him that I could model for him lying on the hood of that car wearing nothing but his leather jacket. He looked at me like I was completely crazy, like I would have suggested that we´d trash the car or something like that. “You are not getting anywhere near my car”, he said and a hard lesson about men and their priorities was learnt there and then.
Thanks for sharing your past with us. It made me grin. Love the ghostly feel to this shot, like your ghostly memories are emerging. That guy was an idiot...just sayin'. Fav!
Well I'm a guy and I'm not really a fan of old cars either. So if I had one, you could do whatever you wanted. Now my sport bike, well.... ;-) Back on point though, very nice image!
@olivetreeann Lol thank you Ann, well he actually is quite the opposite, he was those easy going guys that get along with everybody. He could buy a car from a total stranger and in next week they were buddies going for a drink together. The biggest problem I had with him was that he was always on the phone, so annoying! But he is a good guy and we are friends. I better not trash him here cos he is changing the tires to my car this week and he is the one I call if I have problems with my car, I'd like to keep it that way....
@susale Those are great friends to have- I did not actually mean that to sound so judgmental! It was my intention to be a bit tongue in cheek. My apologies that it did not come across well. I do understand about the phone though. I love my sons- but there is at least one day when we visit that I wish I had the nerve to take the phone out of their hands and say, "Your phone is always here, but I'm not, so at least put it away for today!" But of course, since I do love them, I hold my tongue!
@amandal@linc@seattlite@cocobella@eyesmile@virtualbrownie@vstap@shepherdmanswife@icamera@scolgs@ukandie1@olivetreeann Thank you all for having the interest to read my story and your great comments, it was so fun to read them. As I said it's not to be taken very seriously, I don't really hate cars, not even the old ones. I totally understand it now, I mean it was a old classic car, if I would have suggestions to lean on it, I think the story would have been different.
@olivetreeann No worries, I understand it was ment that way. And he actually does not look at my project, or even my pics- he simply is not interested so it's quite safe:)
@sangwann Lol, yes most of us have the same kind of relation to our cars, but then there are those who consider them to be something more than mere cars...and to be fair, I think we all have something we hold on dear to us whether it´s a car or a camera for instance. Thank you for your comment
More to the story...haha..please don't lay it all on the car....haha. He was intimidated. You are more beautiful than the car! Too funny..he was a fool!
Reminds me of that Presley song, Blue Suede Shoes : "...you can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes." :-D
Very cool capture, love the angle and the composition. The strong contrasts work well to.
@dulciknit Oh yes I know that song, that is a cool observation...maybe I should change the title to: "You can do anything but lay on the hood of my classic car" Lol. Thank you!
