Splendor in the grass by susale

Splendor in the grass

What though the radiance
which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass,
of glory in the flower,
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.

-- William Wordsworth

Beautiful!

Isn't Wordsworth so good! You can put any situation for this poem and it means more! I'm glad I read this again!

@maggiemae Yes indeed. I fell in love with the poem first time I read it, I watched Natalie Wood documentary last night and I find it so tragic that someone who was terrified of dark Waters eventually died drowning in dark water, Spledor was the name of the boat she was missing and the poem fits well in her too I think
