Christmas is over, the gingerbread house still remains. Honestly I don´t know what to do with this gingerbread house that my co-worker made me for Christmas. I have been on a sugar free diet since the beginning of this year so I can´t eat it (and honestly I wouldn´t even want to), I have no means to preserve it and it would feel such a shame just to throw it away. What to do, what to do.....
you could always break it up and freeze it although it lasts a long time in an airtight container in the fridge (I usually do that each year until it's all eaten). If I was near I would take it off your hands as I love gingerbread. It's very nicely done.
Such a lovely gingerbread house....I think you already have the solution to your dilemma...print out your wonderful photo on a thank you card and give it to the friend who baked it for you...maybe a neigh with kids might like to eat it.
A beautiful little house. I don't think it would be good for birds - that sugar would really not be healthy, and if there's any chocolate it could be fatal for them. Is there an old-people's home anywhere near you with residents who might enjoy it?
If I had it I'd bring it to the church's coffee hour, but I like Alia's idea. (Some residents might not be able to eat it, but I'm sure there'd be plenty who could.) At any rate I really like the way you photographed it and the person who made it is very talented!
