The hamlet Lerop is about 4 km from where I live and belonged to Sint Odiliënberg for a long time. Now it is part of Roerdalen, just as Sint Odiliënberg. There are a few road and field crosses in this community. This one is at a crossing with the road from Sint Odiliënberg to Roermond. The note on the pedestal says "Lord give peace to the world", which was very apt in 1917 during WW I where The Netherlands was neutral. And of course peace is also highly needed in our times as well.
