. . . of the perfect crown! Not exactly what I wanted, but gave up for the day. I did like the reflection in this one however.
Problem #1 - don't have an external flash, just built in. I tried to create some more light but didn't work so well. (why did I try to do this on an overcast day??? - bored maybe)
Problem #2 - I can't get the whole crown in focus.
Problem #3 - Don't have or want to use tripod ; ))
So, there you have it and here's my crown for the day.
Thank you all for stopping by and for all your comments. I appreciate your encouragement and tips so much. I've learned so much on this site!
Ohhhhh, I love this! Just popped in to peek around a bit and HAD to comment. I think this has incredible detail and contrast. And I love that it's not perfectly symmetrical. You are rocking the whole black and white thing! Your calendar view looks awesome (especially on my computer screen, compared to your phone). :-) Go Tara!!!
It's pretty close- I love all the spikes! I don't have a tripod either but I have used several unusual objects every once in a while to stand in for one!
Oh, I like it! This is still on my list of projects, but will save it to summer. I love it in b and w! Good thing you are doing the touch o red, huh? It looks great in b and w so that worked out. I think this is an amazing crown shot! I still cannot imagine how one gets down that close to it and gets a pic from that angle. Guess I will find out. I wrote you about the tripod..did you get that message? I have been doing tons of housework today...not near my phone most of the time. You could use a smaller tripod like a Gorilla pod maybe? Not sure how you set this up? but if you need mine, I can loan it to you. And I am going to buy an external flash. Erin got one for 40 bucks online that works pretty well....fav!
I have never tried crowns, but from out here in the Arizona Desert Country, this crown looks pretty good to me, I especially like the amazing sharp contrast of the B & W....and a definite Fav !
@eeniemoni Thank you Moni!
problem 1 can be solved by a lamp. that's what i would use when i do smoke or water shots.
problem 2 can be solved by putting a small object beside where the water drops and focus on it. although i don't see that problem here, kiddo.
problem 3 can be solved by getting a tripod, it's a must, if not, use something to steady your camera.
this is a great shot. i haven't come close to this. i was thinking of doing this tonight but i feel so stressed i wouldn't bother.
@skipt07 Thanks for the encouragement Skip! Will do . . .
