Piliated Woodpecker

I just love these guys. We have a dead tree in our yard that this guy has been working on. I fits completely inside the hole now.

Great capture Tara! I actually saw one last week. I was sitting at the dining room table and saw some movement in the trees. I assumed it was a squirrel, but when it moved and I saw its red head.

@cheribug Thank you Cheryl! One day I hope to have a super lens so that I can get one of these more clear. They're usually very high up and constantly moving. This was the most clear shot I've gotten in a while. They're really cool to watch. They're really big too!
